Team Switching - AndyP - 02-24-2013

We've been at this a long time boyos. We admins have talked and we think it's a good time to let this happen:

We're going to allow GMs to switch teams if they want. So I'm making this thread to allow people to post if they are open to moving and if they have a preference for what team they'd like to take over.

Many of us have been GMs for the same teams for years (and some of us are happy to stay) but we want people to not feel forced to one team even when things are stale.

So there you have it boys.....all switches have to be finalized by the playoff sim on Tuesday March 5th so teams will take over for offseason resignings.

If the Dodgers are open or do open up, I would take them.

RE: Team Switching - mike - 02-25-2013

This is good if its a one time thing. As long as we dont allow people just to switch whenever because maybe they had a bad rebuild or whatever.

RE: Team Switching - decker91 - 02-25-2013

id be interested if the Mets opened up

RE: Team Switching - Rhendricks - 02-25-2013

I've always wanted to run the Cardinals. But I doubt that that'd happen right now. But if they become available sometime down the road or whatever.

RE: Team Switching - James - 02-25-2013

I know this has worked in other leagues.. I've done it a couple times, and I can tell you my interest in ALWAYS renewed after a team-switch.

RE: Team Switching - mattynokes - 02-26-2013

When stang wants to relinquish the Braves, I'd consider taking them. ;)

I can say the admins have discussed this enough that I can ensure you people will not be able to make bad decisions and be allowed to jump ship to a better situation. It will be a case-by-case decision whether the GM is eligible to move or not.

I will also mention that I am open to creative ideas to making drastic changes to your park effects when building a new stadium (possibly even make changes to your current stadium). The park effects you currently have take whatever wind patterns, wall heights, odd dimensions there may be. This is not calculated by me, but what I infer FanGraphs (which is where the baseline of the park effects came from) has done to create their park effects.

So, if you can articulate changes to your stadium that could alter the park effects I would consider making changes other than what's laid out in the stadium upgrades guidelines. Things like building a stadium facing a different direction than it current does, lowering wall heights from 10 to 7 feet, or changing a stadium like SFG's AT&T Park dimensions to something more normal like ATL's Turner Field dimensions could all see drastic changes to the park effects. It wouldn't just stop there either. As long as your idea to alter your park effects make sense, I'm willing to work with you.

I guess I am looking for an answer. Am I the Dodgers next year starting with free agency signing this week?

Alright - San Diego will be moving to LAD.

Current openings in TBR and SDP if anyone is looking for a change of pace.
