Nate Price has a legit shot to steal 750 career bases if he stays healthy.

Keith Hammond is a 3000 hits kinda guy.

Doc Nye may be the only Cy Young candidate to come out of this draft.

Biggest reach is SS Ian Baker, LAA was too in love with his glove and pop/eye potential.

Biggest steal is between picks 23-25. Beyes, Eberling and Moody were all top 15 talents, and Moody was in my top 10 consideration.

I voted the draft as good. Overall people did well on their picks, as the good talent seemed to dry up quickly.

TONS of groundball / control/movement pitchers, maybe young, so there will be some major surprises come out of the mid to late rounds.

Hot Takes:

James Balby becomes the best SP out of this draft. May give up a few more HRs than you'd like, but can be an ace type guy.

Biggest steal pick is Uro at 31.

Edmund Vallez gets stretched out as a starter and is one of those top ground ball control movement guys.

The draft pick mistake showing off Varial early comes back to haunt Biron as he becomes a 75/90/95 type player for Chicago.

Luis Hernandez becomes a very serviceable starting level catcher, with a 90 contact/eye and good defense, only lacking slight in arm strength. He's the only catcher in this entire draft worth having, as a catcher.

Julio Chapette has value as a CF in this league. Is a starter for several years.

Kevin Spatola becomes a reliable (Not great) platoon CF.

Good talent in this draft. Going to regret not trying to trade up infront of mzy for vanness

I think the draft was quite deep, especially in the mid-1st and onto the 2nd. The draft was stocked with plenty of capable pitchers. 2nd round pitchers (i.e. Mutton, Webb, Lavoie, Schiff) could easily become just as good as the pitchers selected in the 1st round. The talent certainly trailed off (like any draft does), but I think it was worth having some skin in the game into the later rounds (even the 5th and 6th rounds).
